What exactly does BLËSK monitor?
Routers, switches, servers, hardware, software, operating systems, applications, virtualized environments, websites, email servers, databases, VoIP and QoS, IPSLA, logs, events, performance, NetFlow/IPFIX, sFlow, and jFlow, packet sniffing, SNMP, WMI, temperature, humidity, and many more.
How long does it take to configure BLËSK?
The answer vary depending of the size of your infrastructure and advanced behaviours you want to monitor. Usually, if all credential and access required to connect to the devices you want to monitor have been already completed, then one hour will do it. Does BLËSK support notifications and alarms?
BLËSK offers several means of notifications. The most often used means are sending emails or SMS, among others. Furthermore you can configure notifications on schedule, so that you (or your staff) won’t be alerted in the middle of the night for failures of less important servers. You can define numerous conditions for notifications, not only if a component is down, also of course if the traffic on a certain interface hits a limit over a certain time, and much more.
Does BLËSK support multiple user accounts and user rights?
There are various account types in BLËSK, e.g. “Read-Only” users and “Read/Write”-Users. Furthermore, you can configure the access rights for every group/device/components to control which users are allowed to see or edit it.
Can BLËSK monitor virtualized environment?
Yes, BLËSK provides comprehensive real-time monitoring of both host hardware and virtual machines, to ensure the reliability and stability of virtual environments. It comes with a range of built-in service template which makes monitoring VMware, Hyper-V, Xen, and other virtual servers and services easy.
How often does BLËSK update are released?
There are three kind of update. Major update that are released every two years that change lot of part of the software, medium update made every six months to add features and minor update happening every day to fix bug or add minor changes. The updates are available to all clients with an active maintenance contract and can be obtained via BLËSK’s built-in auto-update.
How does the 'Auto-Update' work?
Every BLËSK installation regularly connects to our servers to check if there is a new version of BLËSK packages available. For Trial users, as well as commercial users with an active maintenance contract, BLËSK will download a new version automatically and install it in the background. Using the auto-update function built into BLËSK, the administrator doesn’t have to manually install a new version.
Can I keep my monitoring configuration while upgrading from one version to another?
Yes, you can keep all configured devices, notifications, dependencies and everything else. If you want to upgrade from one specific edition to another edition, simply enter your new license key in your existing installation.
